Green light for CTI funded R&D project
22.05.09: Green light for CTI funded R&D project

NetGuardians has secured R&D funding from CTI, the Swiss confederation’s innovation promotion agency, for a joint project with SIG (Services Industriels de Genève), to extend the scope of unobtrusive data collection technology.

While most log management solutions continue to rely on open source agents to collect and transfer non-standard formatted data, the NG-Screener mainly harnesses unobtrusive, agentless log data collection technology. This method significantly reduces the complexity and cost of implementation and maintenance, which enables the NG-Screener to operate at a lower price point than its competitors.

Having been impressed by the implementation of this technology within the NG-Screener, the CTI is funding NetGuardians-led research into the possibility of extending the use of unobtrusive, data collection into new domains. The project is scheduled for completion in 10 months.
