The event is hosted by the West Nairobi School, an international Christian school in Nairobi, Kenya. In addition to supporting Heshima, the Rhino Stampede offers a fun time for all, with participants even wearing costumes. This 3rd installment of the run/walk will take place on November 22, 2014.
Heshima Children’s Center provides a holistic environment for children with special needs. Sadly, disabled children in Kenya are often shunned by their families and the public. Heshima – the name is Swahili for “dignity” – has taken on the role of caring for these children through physical, mental, spiritual and other support. The center also offers their parents a chance to gain working skills to help their families financially.
“Our connection to Kenya grows deeper the more we build our clientele here,” says Joël Winteregg, NetGuardians CEO. “All the funds from this race go to the Heshima Center. We can’t think of a more worthy cause or better way to show our care and support for this region.”
